What K-Netters say about the courses for kids and teenagers - 1996
Lucinda Hinxman (6)
TechnoFun
"I love K-Net. It is great.
K-Net makes me feel good.
K-Net makes me feel happy.
K-Net makes me feel clever."
Natalie Mat (13)
TechnoCruise
"So far we've worked in CorelDraw, CorelPHOTO-PAINT and learnt how to use Windows 95 correctly. The work we do is a lot more advanced than TechnoBlast. It's a lot more fun in some places and definitely helps you a lot more. Jil goes about the course in a fun way. It's not like school where you will do everything the way the teacher says. It looks at your way of learning. I think that's what helps us learn."
Adrian Hamel (13)
TechnoCruise
"Right now we're making voice overlays, videos and graphics. It's lots of fun. It's very different from TechnoBlast because we work in new and better programs which are a lot more advanced. It's totally different from school. We have more fun at K-Net, unlike school where it's boring. I want to learn more about computers. Eventually I'd like to know how to program because I want to be a programmer."
Sarah Hill (10) "K-Net is a weird and wonderful place."
Kyle Judah (10) "So cool like paradise, I wish I could live here."
Leigh van Heerden (13) "K-Net is lots of fun, educational, interesting and there is something for everyone."
Andrew van der Merwe (11) "Learning is always fun and so easy with K-Net."
Sabelo Sithebe Marishane (8)
TechnoFun
"Dangerous Creatures is fun. You can do games like Who eats Whom, How big am I and others. You can go to the index and look up an animal. My favourite animal is the leopard. When you look it up you find amazing facts. If you haven't tried it you should. I come to K-Net because it's cool. It's fun in the sun."
Digby Andrews (5) "I hate school but I love K-Net because it is so much fun and you can learn anything."
Tarryn Pods (14)
Building and Repairing PCs
"I'm very interested in computers. I want to know how to build them and what's going on. We have somebody who repairs our 486 at home and I want to know it it's good enough and at the right cost. I like to know how to install things myself to get the most out of my computer.

The K-Net building and repairing PCs course is wonderful. I'm really enjoying it. Last Friday, we took a computer apart and put it back together. And it worked!!!!"

Paul Clark (12)
TechnoCruise
"K-Net has changed my life. I don't just sit around watching TV anymore. I do really cool stuff on my computer - graphics, programming, making videos, doing school projects, surfing the Net, playing strategy games and lots, lots more.

I have been at K-Net since it opened. I earn money through the K-Net mini business, I am a K-Net Club Member and I have done most of the courses - TechnoBlast, Graphics and every holiday programme. K-Net has helped me with school. I think more."

Adam Whitehouse (15)
Building and Repairing PCs
"I've started my own business, buying parts and putting computers together. Now I want to get into repairing PCs. I advertise in Junk Mail and the Roodepoort Record and some of my school friends are also my customers.

The K-Net course in Building and Repairing PCs is very good. Gerry is a very good mentor and we get into a lot of detail. I am learning a lot of things I didn't know."

Yair Sappir (9)
Fun Programming
"It's fun to learn with Gerry. He shows us how to program all kinds of games such as a horse race or to make a rocket launch and it means a lot because you control the computer by typing commands."
Yair Sappir (9)
NetAssist
"Hi. It is fun to show other kids every Monday how to use a computer. But to be a NetAssist is not easy because you have to explain a lot of things such as "go to next", "back" or "stop" or go to the magic hands or click on save etc. I hope that in the future other kids will know a lot on the computer and will also be a NetAssist like me. I'm sure that it's fun for them to learn from me. I just can't wait for Mondays and K-Net."
